The ritual of the “obsequious bull” of Bacugno

Azeglio the bull spends his time living in the mountains during spring and summer, free and happy. Beloved and well taken care of by the entire community. He doesn’t suffer from any particular issues and has a life expectation that far exceeds that of its peers. This is all because of the nature of his work.
The film revolves around the complex ritual of the genuflessione (kneeling) of the bull, the final moment of a parade held in Bacugno (hamlet of the Comune of Posta, in the province of Rieti) on August 5th, on the anniversary of the Madonna della Neve celebration.
